Sell your collection

Selling a coin collection? Start with a free purchase evaluation.

Whether you built the collection yourself or inherited it, I'll look at it carefully, explain what you have, and make you a fair offer. The evaluation is free, and there is no obligation to sell.

What I buy

Classic U.S. coins, and whole collections.

I specialize in classic U.S. coins: early and 19th-century issues such as Bust, Seated Liberty, and Barber coinage, along with certified coins graded by PCGS, NGC, and CACG. I buy individual coins that fit this focus, as well as entire collections.

You don't need to sort anything out first. I buy the whole collection, including modern coins, proof and mint sets, and bullion, so you can settle everything at once.

If your collection is mostly modern proof sets or bullion, a bullion dealer may be a better fit, but I'm always glad to take a look.

Why sell to me

Top dollar paid for quality coins.

Strong prices.

I don't carry the overhead of a storefront or showroom, so more of your collection's value comes back to you.

Ready buyers.

I sell through coin shows, collector forums, social media, my website, and eBay. That reach lets me pay well for a wide range of coins.

A collector's eye.

After 30 years of collecting, I know what separates an ordinary coin from an exceptional one, and I price accordingly.

Straight answers.

I'll tell you what you have and how I arrived at my offer.

How it works

Five steps, start to finish.

  1. Get in touch.

Call, text, or email. Tell me roughly what you have and where you're located.

  2. Send a few photos.

Snapshots of the collection are enough to start. I don't need a picture of every coin.

  3. We meet.

At your home or office, your attorney's office, your bank, or wherever you're most comfortable.

  4. You receive an offer.

At the meeting, or within 24 to 48 hours for larger or more complex collections.

  5. You're paid.

By business check, cashier's check, or bank wire.

Where I travel

I come to you.

I'll meet you anywhere on the Florida peninsula, including Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Sarasota, Fort Myers, Naples, Lakeland, and Orlando. For larger collections, I'll travel anywhere in the country.

Who you'll be dealing with

One person, start to finish.

I'm Eric Liiv. I've collected coins for about 30 years, I'm a member of the American Numismatic Association, and I've sold coins on eBay since 1999 with 100% positive feedback. When you call, you reach me directly.

About purchase evaluations

Free, with no obligation.

A purchase evaluation is my assessment of your collection and what I'll pay for it. It costs nothing, and you're under no obligation to accept my offer.

A purchase evaluation is not a formal appraisal. It should not be used for probate, estate tax, insurance, or other formal valuation purposes.

Questions sellers ask

Common questions.

Does the evaluation cost anything?
No. The evaluation is free, and there's no obligation to sell.
Should I clean the coins first?
Please don't. Cleaning, even gently, can permanently reduce a coin's value. Leave everything as it is, in its holders, albums, or envelopes.
Do I need to sort or organize the collection?
No. I'll go through everything with you.
I inherited coins and don't know what they are. Can you help?
Yes. That's a common situation, and you don't need to know anything about coins to get started. I'll explain what you have in plain terms.
Do you buy single coins?
Yes, when the coin fits my focus on classic U.S. coinage. Call or email with a description.
Do you buy bullion and modern coins?
Yes, as part of a collection.
Do you buy jewelry or other items?
No. I buy coins and bullion only.
How will I be paid?
By business check, cashier's check, or bank wire.
What should I have with me?
A photo ID. If you're selling on behalf of an estate or trust, bring documents showing your authority to sell.
What if I'm outside Florida?
For larger collections, I travel nationwide. Call or email to talk it through.
